West Indies A Team

Nepal faces a tough test as the West Indies A team packed with explosive batting and a lethal bowling attack. Can Nepal rise to the occasion?

A potent West Indies A team, packed with senior team players, prepares for a landmark tour of Nepal. In the 15-member squad for the five-match T20 series, only three players lack senior team experience – Kadeem Alleyne, Joshua Bishop, and Mark Deyal.

Headlining the squad is T20 World Cup champion Johnson Charles. Renowned for his explosive batting, Charles boasts a century against South Africa and a match-winning knock that helped defeat India in the 2016 T20 World Cup semi-final.

Other notable inclusions are Andre Fletcher, also a T20 World Cup winner, the promising Alick Athanaze, and captain Roston Chase, an experienced all-rounder.

The team boasts a lethal bowling attack featuring the swing and precision of Obed McCoy, known for his devastating spell against India, and the pace of Oshane Thomas and Keemo Paul. With spinners Hayden Walsh Jr. and Gudakesh Motie also included, the team is well-rounded.

For Nepal, this is the highest-level team they’ve hosted. This visit holds significant potential for the future of Nepalese cricket, especially as coach Darren Sammy seeks to use the tour to find players for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
