Two climbers have gone missing while descending from Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. The missing climbers are identified as 21-year-old Tenji Sherpa from Makalu rural municipality-2 in Sankhuwasabha District, Nepal, and 40-year-old British citizen Daniel Paul Peterson.
According to the Tourism Department, the climbers disappeared during their descent on Tuesday near the ‘South Summit’ at an altitude of 8,750 meters. Both climbers had successfully reached the summit on the morning of May 21 before slipping and going missing on their way down.
In response, six experienced mountain guides have been dispatched to search for the missing climbers. The tourism department has also issued a public appeal for assistance in locating them.
