Two tragic drowning incidents occurred in Pokhara on Sunday, claiming the lives of two young boys.
In the first incident, the body of a 14-year-old boy, Sonam Subedi of Pokhara-5, was recovered from a water channel in Khapaudi. Subedi had been swimming with a friend when he drowned. District Police spokesperson Basanta Sharma confirmed the death and stated that an investigation is underway.
Later that evening, the body of a 15-year-old boy was found in the Fusre River. The armed police diving team recovered the body, but identification is still pending. According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, the boy is believed to have drowned around 4 pm.
These incidents are a stark reminder of the dangers of swimming in unsupervised areas.
