Thakur Prasad Dangi of Bardiya, chairman of the RPP Madhuvan municipality, has died during treatment at Birendra Sainik Hospital in Chhauni. He was injured during an RPP agitation in Kathmandu. RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha confirmed his passing at 4 AM this morning.
Dangi, who had pre-existing respiratory problems, was hospitalized after his health deteriorated due to tear gas exposure during the protest. The demonstration, held on April 9th, demanded the abolition of Nepal’s republicanism and secularism.
A tribute for Dangi is scheduled at the RPP central office today at noon.
