A motorcycle accident in Sunsari on Saturday afternoon resulted in the death of a young boy and injured his father.
Seven-year-old Anubhav Basnet was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle driven by his father, 35-year-old Pushpa Basnet when the vehicle lost control near the Karam Khola Bridge in Baraha Kshetra-2. The motorcycle, traveling from Tehrahaddi to Chatara, crashed around 3:30 pm.
Pushpa Basnet sustained injuries to his face and left hand and is receiving treatment at a local hospital. Anubhav was rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Initial police investigations indicate that high speed may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
