By Our Correspondent, Mahottari, Saptari, Oct. 8: Security agencies in Madhes Province have intensified preparations for the festive season, with 7,229 police personnel to be mobilised across all eight districts to ensure public safety during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.

The Madhes Province Police Office has implemented a special security plan from October 15 to November 16, focusing on crowd management, border security, road safety and the prevention of criminal activities.

According to Madhes Province Police Office spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, the largest deployment will be made in Dhanusha with 1,599 personnel, followed by Bara with 870, Rautahat 863, Saptari 857, Sarlahi 792, Mahottari 747, Parsa 661 and Siraha 651. Another 189 personnel will be stationed at the provincial police office.

The personnel will be mobilised through district reserves, quick response and striking teams, traffic checks, mobile and foot patrols, and security pickets at sensitive locations. Escort services along highways and passenger assistance desks at major transport hubs and border points will also be operated.
