Kathmandu Film Festival to screen over 40 films

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 10: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced the results of the Youth Video Challenge and Nepal Panorama sections of the Kathmandu Film Festival 2083, selecting 22 videos for screening.

The selected videos include 12 entries of up to five minutes under the Youth Video Challenge and 10 films of up to 30 minutes under Nepal Panorama. More than 40 films from 10 countries will be screened during the festival.

At a press meet held at the Nepal Tourism Board, KMC Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol said Kathmandu has many untold stories linked to its ancient monuments, social life and cultural heritage.

She said the festival aimed to promote the city’s unique identity through films, take local artistes' works to international audiences and bring international artistes closer to local communities.
