Sarmila Waiba, the individual who gained widespread attention through various fundraising activities on YouTube, has been subjected to an additional two days of police detention for further inquiry.
According to Chandra Prasad Panthi, the Information Officer, the Kathmandu District Court has once again extended the investigation period, marking the seventh extension in this case.
Panthi stated, “Waiba’s detention has been prolonged on grounds of allegations related to mutilation.”
The incident unfolded when comedian Pawan Khatiwada complained to Waiba. Following Khatiwada’s complaint, Waiba was apprehended on February 28, after the filing at the Maharajganj police station. The arrest took place in Sindhupalchok, after which Waiba was transported to Kathmandu.
