Russia Ukraine War Latest News: Zelensky Says US Working to Arrange Trilateral Summit

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has shared that the US is currently working to arrange a three-way meeting involving him, US president Donald Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin. He also shared that Ukraine’s lead negotiator Rustem Umerov met presidential envoy Jared Kushner regarding the same this Friday.

The announcement has surprised many, since many expected diplomatic communication to suffer due to the ongoing rift between Zelensky and Trump. It is important to note that Putin and Zelensky reportedly hate each other (something President Trump alluded to) and have only met once face to face (in Paris in December 2019).
