The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) held a demonstration in Kathmandu on Wednesday demanding a return to a Hindu state and a constitutional monarchy. The party also called for the abolition of the current federal system in favor of stronger central power with empowered local bodies.
The demonstration started at Bhadrakali and moved through central Kathmandu, ending with a gathering and speeches at Bhrikutimandap. RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden and other senior party leaders were present.
The RPP submitted a 40-point memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ outlining their demands. The party plans to submit the same document to Chief District Officers across Nepal.
