The weather forecast for Nepal predicts rainfall and thunderstorms in several regions today. Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are expected to experience varying degrees of rain, along with the possibility of lightning and gusty winds.
The Department of Water and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that local westerly winds and a low-pressure system over Bihar, India are currently influencing Nepal’s weather patterns.
As a result, several hilly areas in Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are experiencing partial to normal rainfall. Some areas within these regions are also witnessing light rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds.
The forecast for this afternoon predicts partly cloudy to generally cloudy conditions in the hilly areas, while the remaining areas will be partly cloudy. There is a chance of light rain with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds in a few places within Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a couple of locations in Madhesh and other hilly regions. High hilly and Himalayan areas may also experience light snowfall.
Tonight, Koshi and Madhesh provinces can expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies, while the rest of the region will be partly cloudy. A few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki, including the Koshi region, might see light rain with thunder and lightning.
