KATHMANDU – The Weather Forecasting Division of Nepal has warned about rain and thunderstorms in several areas across the country. Officials attribute the impending weather changes to combined influences from a western low-pressure system and a system located in North East Assam and the surrounding parts of India.
Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is affecting regions within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and portions of Madhesh province. Skies are forecast to clear this afternoon in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with partly cloudy conditions anticipated in other areas.
Meteorologists predict light rain, thunder, and lightning in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, extending into a few locations in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces. Light snowfall is also possible in isolated areas of the high hills and Himalayan regions of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
As evening approaches, the weather is expected to stay mostly clear within the hilly areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Some hilly locations in these areas may still experience light rain, thunder, and lightning. In addition, higher elevation areas within the same provinces might receive light snowfall.
