Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reportedly set to meet the Indian men’s cricket team on October 15 following their gold medal triumph at the 2026 Asian Games. Led by Shreyas Iyer, the Men in Blue defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the final to successfully defend their title in Aichi-Nagoya.

The reported meeting would give the Prime Minister an opportunity to congratulate the players in person after India’s impressive campaign in the men’s cricket competition at the continental tournament.

India Defeat Pakistan To Retain Asian Games Gold

India secured the gold medal on October 3, defeating Pakistan by 19 runs in the final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan. The victory ensured that India retained the men’s cricket title after winning gold at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
