Panama News: Panama Government’s Response
The government issued the emergency declaration in order to give priority to helping affected households and to coordinate the response among national and local agencies.
Panama’s presidential office stated that initial assessments found damage to 426 homes, 419 educational facilities and 21 healthcare installations. Authorities also said that some people were being treated for injuries caused by the earthquake.
