A fishing boat capsized off the coast of South Australia (SA) on Monday afternoon, leaving one person dead and two others missing. Five individuals, described as family and close friends, were on board when the incident occurred near Spilsby Island, prompting a search and rescue operation.
SA Police Superintendent Paul Bahr confirmed the discovery of a deceased individual in the water, whose identity remains unknown. Two survivors, a 44-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy, were rescued from a reef around 2:00 AM Tuesday. According to their account, a wave overturned their boat, which was also located.
The search for the remaining two individuals is ongoing.
