A woman has died and seven others are injured following a jeep accident in Gulmi district on Monday.
The jeep, traveling from Bharse to Butwal, veered off the road near Purtighat, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Pokharel. The accident occurred in Okeng, Gulmi Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-4.
Kamala Budhathoki, 32, from Bharse, Satyawati Rural Municipality-8, was pronounced dead at the scene. Seven other passengers were injured, including Rita Chhantel, 37, her daughter Irisha Chhantel, 4, Tek Bahadur Kala, 75, Megh Bahadur Baral, 23, Ajay Nepali, 26, Durpati Baral, 46, and the driver, Keshav Rana, 29.
The injured have been transferred to Palpa for medical treatment. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
