The Mahakali Customs Office in Jhulaghat, Baitadi, has collected a total revenue of Rs 1.06 billion 19 thousand 319 in the fiscal year 2082/83, exceeding its target by 16.76%.

According to Lokendra Bahadur Singh, chief of the customs office, the target for the previous fiscal year was set at Rs 90 million 95 thousand, but the office was able to collect more than the target.

Singh stated that the total revenue collected includes customs duty on imported goods, service charge, value-added tax, excise duty, fines, and auction proceeds.

He also mentioned that there were no exports from this customs office.

Breaking down the revenue collection, the customs office collected Rs 26 million 68 thousand 787 from customs duty, Rs 2 million 12 thousand 500 from service charge, Rs 21 million 42 thousand 155 from value-added tax, Rs 1 million 22 thousand 704 from excise duty, and Rs 54 million 61 thousand 173 from fines, penalties, and auction proceeds.

For the current fiscal year, the customs office has set a revenue collection target of Rs 92 million.
