Nepali Congress Leader Thapa: Party Crisis Must Be Resolved Through Internal Dialogue

Nepali Congress central committee president Gagan Kumar Thapa has expressed his commitment to resolving the ongoing crisis within the party through internal dialogue and in accordance with the party’s constitution.

Addressing the party’s central committee meeting, Thapa stated that the recent Supreme Court verdict on the party’s special general convention has not changed the fact that the convention was legitimate and necessary.

Thapa emphasized that the party must respect the court’s decision and move forward, rather than getting bogged down in further disputes. He also called on party members to have faith in the court and to refrain from making public statements that could undermine the institution.

The Nepali Congress leader acknowledged that the party’s internal crisis is a complex issue, but expressed his confidence that it can be resolved through dialogue and a commitment to the party’s constitution. He also reached out to party members who did not participate in the special general convention, urging them to come forward and work together to strengthen the party.

Thapa’s comments come at a time when the Nepali Congress is facing a deepening internal crisis, with some party members challenging the legitimacy of the special general convention and the leadership of the party.
