In the last fiscal year 2082/83, the Dhanusha district in Nepal has seen significant progress in road infrastructure development, with 57 kilometers of road blacktopping and 22 culverts constructed.
According to the office of the Infrastructure Development Office in Janakpur, 22.5 kilometers of road have been graveled and one kilometer of road has been paved with coal tar. Additionally, seven kilometers of road maintenance and repair work have been completed.
The office’s chief, Sanjiv Kumar Sah, stated that the construction of two community halls, including the BP Smriti Sabha Hall and the Yog Narayan Smriti Sabha Hall, has been completed during the same period. Furthermore, 22 community buildings and two meeting halls have been constructed in various locations throughout the district.
Most of the 32 multi-year plans implemented by the Madhes Province government in Dhanusha are in their final stages, with the ‘One Constituency, One Road Program’ also nearing completion. This program aims to construct and pave five kilometers of road in each constituency.
Other notable projects that have been completed include the construction of a bridge over the Jalad River in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-1 and the paving of the road from Bhimnath to Mahangarhi-Kisanpur. The People’s Housing Program has also seen significant progress, with 638 out of 796 houses constructed, while the remaining houses are pending due to court cases.
In addition, the Mahendra Narayan Fund’s poverty alleviation housing program has completed the construction of 71 out of 105 houses in Dhanusha, with the remaining 34 houses currently under construction. The Madan Bhandari Poverty Alleviation Housing Program has also completed the construction of 29 out of 55 houses, with the remaining houses still being built.
