Nepal’s roads have been severely disrupted due to heavy rainfall, with several major highways and roads blocked, and night-time travel restricted in some areas.

According to the Police Headquarters, the BP Highway connecting Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli has been closed to all vehicles from 6 pm to 4 am due to the risk of flooding.

The highway will remain closed at night until further notice, with vehicles only allowed to operate from 4 am to 6 pm.

In Makwanpur, the Kantipath highway has also been closed to all vehicles from 5 pm to 5 am due to the risk of landslides.

The Mechi Highway in Ilam has been completely blocked due to landslides, while several sections of the Arniko Highway in Sindhupalchok have been blocked due to road damage.

In Dolakha, the Lamaganghu-Ramechhap road section has been blocked due to a landslide, although an alternative route has been opened through the Khimti Rural Electricity Cooperative Office.

Other roads that have been blocked include the Pasang Lhamu road section in Rasuwa, the Nagm-Gamgadhi road section in Mugu, and the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung.

The Police have urged travelers to exercise caution and check the road conditions before traveling, especially during the monsoon season when the risk of landslides and flooding is high.
