A group of young leaders from the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), or CPN-UML, has called for an immediate meeting of the party’s Central Committee.
The demand comes after the party failed to hold a Central Committee meeting as scheduled on Jestha 15, and to discuss the report of the party’s restructuring taskforce.
The young leaders, who submitted a petition to the party’s central office, also urged the party to expedite its restructuring process.
According to the petition, the party’s problems can only be solved through collective discussion, self-reflection, and decision-making within the party, based on its constitution, democratic principles, and committee system.
The petition was submitted to the party’s central office through Secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari, and also called for an immediate meeting of the party’s Secretariat.
