Former Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is set to receive a grand welcome with a cultural procession and musical band upon his return to Nepal on Thursday. Deuba, who has been abroad for nearly six months, is scheduled to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday at 12:15 pm.
According to Congress leader Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Deuba, who is also a former Prime Minister, will return to Nepal on a Thai Airways flight. Deuba had left for Singapore on the night of 13th Falgun after being injured in a brutal attack during the Janjati movement. He later traveled to Hong Kong on 7th Chaitra, 2082, for further treatment.
The Nepali Congress’s establishment faction has made preparations to welcome Deuba with a cultural procession and musical band. The faction’s cultural committee coordinator, Bidya Timilsina, has informed that a cultural procession with musical band will be organized to welcome the former President.
After his return, Deuba is expected to attend the national convention of the establishment faction, which is scheduled to take place at the Miracle Party Palace in Sukedhara on Friday. The convention is expected to be attended by around 5,000 leaders and workers of the faction.
