Nepal’s Path to Good Governance and Prosperity

Nepal’s State Affairs and Good Governance Committee Chairman and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Hari Dhakal has stated that establishing good governance in the country and instilling trust in citizens towards the state is the biggest achievement of the current time.

Speaking at the Nepal Good Governance Conference held in Lalitpur on Sunday, Dhakal mentioned that the country cannot become prosperous overnight, nor can good governance be established in a single day.

He emphasized that the current need is to have discussions that instill hope and trust in citizens, rather than blaming each other. Dhakal acknowledged the practical difficulties faced by his party after coming to power and stressed the need for collective efforts and trust from all for positive change.

Dhakal expressed his sensitivity towards the inflation faced by citizens in their daily consumption and stated that the government and the parliament must work to win the trust of citizens during this tenure.

He also mentioned that not all past works were bad and that good works should be continued while improving weaknesses.

Call for Collective Efforts

National Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Gunakar Bhatta stated that citizens had high hopes and expectations after the new government came to power. He emphasized that no one should be allowed to fail and that this should be taken as an opportunity to bring about economic transformation and prosperity.

Bhatta mentioned that every country is increasing its expenditure in every sector, which affects the facilities and opportunities available to us. He stressed the need to prioritize internal resources.

Other participants in the program mentioned that the government has done a lot in the field of good governance and that citizens should also support and cooperate with the government.
