Kathmandu. In a crackdown on errant drivers, the Nepal Traffic Police took action against 1,406 drivers in the Kathmandu Valley over the past 24 hours.
According to the Traffic Police, 85 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, 75 for violating CCTV rules, and 61 for driving at night without headlights.
Additionally, 180 drivers were fined for speeding, 42 for not wearing seatbelts, 80 for crossing lanes, 59 for driving vehicles in poor condition, and 24 for driving on the wrong side of the road. The Traffic Police also took action against 800 drivers for other offenses.
