Scholarship Program Nepal

In a move to improve access to education, the Nepali government has announced the expansion of its scholarship program for students from marginalized and underprivileged communities.

Previously, only students from grades 9 to 12 were eligible for financial aid. However, Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun, during the budget presentation in parliament on Tuesday, announced that the program will now cover students from grades 6 to 12.

This expansion is expected to benefit an additional 45,000 students, promoting greater equity in Nepal’s educational landscape. To support this initiative, the government has allocated Rs 600 million for the distribution of scholarships across all educational levels (grades 6-12).

This decision highlights the government’s commitment to bridging the gap in educational opportunities for underprivileged students in Nepal. By providing financial assistance at an earlier stage in their academic journey, the program aims to empower these students and contribute to a more inclusive education system.
