Negotiations between microfinance victims and government representatives are showing positive signs, with a potential resolution on the horizon. The discussions, led by Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Narayan Prasad Risal, began Thursday evening and will continue Friday morning.
While an agreement was not reached on Thursday, the meeting was adjourned at the request of the victims, according to the Private Secretariat of Finance Minister Barshman Pun. This indicates a willingness on both sides to continue the dialogue.
During the talks, the government team outlined measures already taken by the Nepal Rastra Bank to address the protestors’ concerns. The team also engaged with additional demands raised by the microfinance victims.
