Namma Shale, a citizen-based online platform, has received reports of 1,300 schools across 30 districts in Karnataka concerning the bad shape of government schools. It includes dysfunctional toilets, lack of clean drinking water, collapsed ceiling or walls in classrooms, broken windows and doors, and more.

Dhruv Jatti, founder of Namma Shale, said: “We launched the platform on August 27, 2026, and have geotagged all 47,000 government schools in the State. Anyone can go to NammaShale.in, upload pictures and explain the issues in government schools in their respective districts, taluks, and villages.”

In order to make it easier for people to report issues, Mr. Jatti and his team has ensured that there is no need for login details. He explained: “There is only one condition to upload the details of the school. A person reporting issues on school infrastructure has to be present within 600 m of the school premises. It aims to prevent bogus or fake photos from being uploaded on the website. The main users of our platform are teachers, principals, and parents in tier 2 and 3 cities. The identity of the person who reports is displayed as anonymous to viewers. Our backend team verifies if the reports are genuine by visiting the respective school.”
