CHITWAN, Nepal – The Manakamana Cable Car will be closed for one day today for routine maintenance. Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd has announced the closure, with services expected to resume regular operation on Thursday.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” said Ujjwal Sherchan, deputy general manager of the company. “The closure is necessary for essential maintenance to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the cable car.”
The Manakamana Cable Car is a popular transportation service for pilgrims visiting the renowned Manakamanamai Temple in Gorkha. The cable car connects Kurintar in Chitwan to the temple, offering a convenient 10-minute ride. Established in 2055 BS, the Manakamana Cable Car holds historical significance as the first cable car in Nepal.
