Man Swept Away by Floodwaters in Mahottari

A 62-year-old man has died after being swept away by floodwaters in Mahottari district. According to police, Tank Bahadur Basnet, a resident of Bardibas Municipality-5, was trying to retrieve an electric motor from a field near the Gadhanta River when he was caught by the strong current.

Police Inspector Guruprasad Timilsina of the Bardibas Area Police Office said Basnet had gone to the river on Wednesday evening to retrieve the motor, which had been washed away by the floodwaters. His body was later found about three kilometers downstream from the incident site.
