Lokendra Shahi reported missing since Monday following an incident where he jumped into the river at Chisapani in Kailali, has been discovered deceased as of Thursday. The District Administration Office Kailali’s Information Officer, Shivraj Joshi, confirmed that Shahi’s body was recovered at Tikapur Municipality 2, Sankatti Ghat.
Shahi, aged 30 and hailing from Lamkichuha Municipality 3, Chisapani, had disappeared after plunging into the Karnali River on Holi, Monday. Search efforts were promptly initiated following the occurrence. Notably, during Holi festivities, Shahi was among 17 individuals who leaped into the river from the bridge.
The incident took place as a group of youths sought to capture a photograph of the police personnel stationed near the bridge.
