Budhiram Chaudhary was arrested on suspicion of customs evasion and was being held at the district police office. Police say he fell unconscious in his cell and was taken to Seti Provincial Hospital, where he died during treatment.
The cause of Chaudhary’s death is unknown at this time, and police are investigating the incident. Chaudhary had been arrested in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-8.
According to police, Chaudhary was initially arrested for possessing illegal goods. He was then transferred to the custody of the customs office, who requested he be held further while their investigation continued.
