Sad news has surfaced from Kirtipur municipality-1, as the ward president, Hiralal Maharjan, has passed away. Rajkumar Nakarmi, the head of Kirtipur Municipality, confirmed this unfortunate event. Maharjan, who had been battling cancer, breathed his last on Wednesday at his residence in Kirtipur-1 Baghbhairav. Yesterday, he was brought home from the hospital.
At the age of 60, Maharjan had been elected as the president of Kirtipur-1 representing the Nepali Congress in the local elections of 2079 BS. With his passing, two wards in Kirtipur are now vacant. Additionally, Shyamraja Adhikari, the Ward President of Kirtipur Municipality 4, succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on the 1st of Baisakh, passing away on the 10th of Baisakh.
