The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has completed a Cleaning project at Khula Manch, a prominent public space. The project focused on enhancing the area’s appearance and usability, which included the removal of over 10 lakh kg of concrete debris.
Mayor Balen Shah stressed the importance of keeping Khula Manch an open and inclusive space for everyone. He outlined a vision for Khula Manch as a multi-purpose area suitable for a variety of activities, including morning exercise routines (like walks, yoga, and meditation), children’s play, general relaxation, as well as demonstrations, protests, and creative events.
The Mayor expressed his desire for Khula Manch to become a central location where diverse activities can take place for the benefit of the community. He also acknowledged and regretted the confusion generated by misinformation surrounding the revitalization project.
