Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, was arrested on charges of citizenship misuse. The arrest took place at Kantipur Daily in Thapathali on Tuesday.
The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, headed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanu Ram Bhattarai, conducted the arrest.
An arrest warrant was issued following a complaint filed on April 28, 2024, accusing Sirohiya of being a non-Nepali citizen and misusing his citizenship.
