Caleb Williams is expected to return to the Chicago Bears’ starting lineup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, October 18, after missing three games with a right hamstring injury.

But the biggest question is not simply whether Chicago’s quarterback plays. It is whether he can run, escape pressure and extend plays without putting his recovery at risk.

Williams was listed as questionable despite completing a full week of practice.

Williams is expected to start, but his official game-day availability must be confirmed.

The Bears have reason to be cautious after the quarterback revealed that he suffered a torn hamstring during Chicago’s September 20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

He missed the next three games, interrupting a season that had started with 407 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception in two appearances.

The encouraging sign is his full participation in practice throughout the week.

Williams has also said he feels comfortable with the movements required to play, including cutting and planting his legs.
