India national cricket team and the West Indies national cricket team will meet in the second T20I of their ongoing five-match series at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on October 9. India head into the contest with a 1-0 advantage after a convincing eight-wicket victory in the opening game and will aim to extend their lead. Shreyas Iyer, Abhishek Sharma and the rest of the Indian batting lineup will be keen to continue their strong start, while attention will also be on 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who missed the series opener and could be in contention for the upcoming clash.

In the first T20I, West Indies batted first and managed 171 runs, with Shai Hope scoring 52 off 37 deliveries and Sherfane Rutherford contributing 56 off 34 balls. However, the rest of their batting lineup struggled to build on those starts, leaving the visitors with a total India were able to chase down comfortably. Shreyas Iyer stole the show with his maiden T20I century, reaching the milestone in just 42 balls, while Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten on 37. India completed the chase with eight wickets in hand and 5.2 overs to spare, leaving West Indies with plenty to address ahead of the second match.
