IME Khalti Users Can Now Participate in Nepal’s Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program

IME Khalti Limited (Khalti) has announced that its users can now easily participate in the ‘Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program, 2083’ launched by the Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Finance, under the Inland Revenue Department.

Khalti has made arrangements for its users to participate in the program, which allows users to make eligible digital payments of NPR 100 or more through the Khalti platform to be included in the daily and weekly gift selection.

According to the program, one winner will receive NPR 1 lakh every day after tax deduction, while one bumper winner will receive NPR 10 lakh every 15 days. Khalti stated that the details of eligible transactions will be securely transmitted to the Inland Revenue Department’s platform, after which the gift coupon will be automatically generated and can be viewed by the user through the Khalti app.

The Inland Revenue Department will select winners through an automated system on the 1st and 16th of every month. Winners will be notified via mobile and email, and Khalti will also inform its users who have participated through the platform.

Khalti aims to support the government’s initiative by promoting bill-based transactions, increasing consumer trust in digital payments, and encouraging the formalization of business records. This is expected to contribute to the expansion of the formal economy and strengthen the national revenue system.
