A 59-year-old man, Rekh Bahadur Pariyar, has been arrested in Dhurkot Rural Municipality-6 Rajasthal, Gulmi for setting fire to his own home. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Pokharel, Pariyar was intoxicated when he committed the act on Sunday night.
Pariyar also allegedly threatened to burn down a neighbor’s house following the incident. The fire caused extensive damage to his house, destroying possessions and food supplies.
This incident is the latest in a concerning string of fires in the Gulmi district, resulting in the deaths of approximately 100 people and numerous animals within the past week.
