Heavy rains in Gulmi on Thursday triggered a flood in the Panaha River, causing significant damage to road and bridge construction projects.
AC Construction Pvt Ltd, working on the Barbot Bhanbhane-Purkot road section, lost 2 tippers, 2 excavators, and other equipment to the floodwaters. The flood also swept away construction materials for a bridge being built by Anjana Shrestha JV Construction Tamghas at Panaha Khola Thuldi, connecting Dhurkot Rural Municipality-1 and 4.
Local police, led by Assistant Inspector Bachraj Yadav, have been deployed to assess the extent of the damage. Shankar Pokharel, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Gulmi District, confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway.
