A wildfire that originated in the Dugurdum community forest in Batase, Khotang District, has destroyed homes and livestock sheds. The fire spread to the village on Wednesday afternoon, destroying the residences of Jiwan Rai, Subas Rai, and Tarakumar Rai.
Residents played a crucial role in preventing further damage. However, the fire continues to threaten surrounding areas like Khisaka, Dhande, and Hawara settlements.
Police, village police, and residents are actively working to contain the blaze. The fire has also caused significant damage to vegetation and wildlife within the community forest.
