Fans unhappy with CAN’s New Jersey for T20 World Cup

Nepal’s new cricket jersey is sparking controversy on social media due to a perceived distortion of the national flag. It seems some Fans aren’t happy.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) revealed the new jerseys for the Nepali team in the upcoming T20 World Cup this June. Sports Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha and Rakhep Member Secretary Tanklal Ghising presented the design at an event in Kathmandu.

The jersey features a rhinoceros and Mount Everest at the base with the Nepali flag on the shoulder. However, the flag’s depiction quickly drew criticism on social media, with many claiming it appears distorted or bent.

CAN Secretary and former team captain Paras Khadka defended the design, stating, “There’s no difference between the previous and current flags. It’s the same as in the previous jersey as well.”
