A devastating accident took place this morning in Naraharinath Rural Municipality-8, Kalikot District, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives. Residents, Keshav Raj Thapa, 43, and his nephew Ganga Thapa, 27, were fatally electrocuted while working on the expansion of the electricity line from the Chakha Kaldhunga Substation.
Pradip Bohora, spokesperson for the Naraharinath Rural Municipality, confirmed the accident occurred during an attempt to shift an electric pole. The pole inadvertently touched a live overhead wire, leading to the fatal shock. Keshav Raj Thapa, a respected teacher at Mangalasaini Secondary School, and his nephew Ganga Thapa sadly lost their lives at the scene of the accident.
The community is reeling from this heartbreaking loss, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident.
