An elderly man lost his life after being swept away by a river in Rolpa on Wednesday.
The incident occurred near Fuliban in Suncharhari Rural Municipality-1, where the Bachchhe River carried away 73-year-old Masan Gharti Magar while he was trying to cross it.
According to the police, Magar was returning from the rural municipality centre in Pobang after receiving his social security allowance when the incident happened.
Another man, Jokhai Gharti Magar, was injured while trying to rescue the elderly man and has been sent to Sulichaur for treatment with the help of local residents and the police.
