Eight Nepali nationals have been deported from the United States after attempting to enter the country illegally. The individuals arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday afternoon, according to Chief Immigration Officer Gogan Bahadur Hamal.
The Nepalis were detained by US authorities for unauthorized entry and returned to Nepal via a chartered flight. Cases of Nepali citizens attempting to enter the US illegally and facing subsequent deportation are not uncommon.
The Immigration Office did not release information regarding the amount of money spent by the deported individuals on their journey.
