One person is dead and seven others were injured after a tractor carrying a Malami overturned in Dhankuta on Monday afternoon.
According to Dhankuta Police, the incident occurred at Sidwa Tribani ghat in Chhathar Jorpati Rural Municipality-4. The tractor, identified with number plate Ko 1 Ta 9737, lost control and plunged roughly 100 meters from the road.
The tragedy claimed the life of 45-year-old Bir Bahadur Khanal who died at the scene. Seven others sustained injuries in the accident. Some of the injured received treatment at a local hospital but were later released, while others remain hospitalized for further care.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
