Chhathar Municipality in Tehrathum has been ranked as the top local government in the district for its effective health service delivery and implementation of health programs.
The municipality’s achievement was based on an assessment of the local governments in the district, which evaluated the effectiveness of health service delivery, implementation of health programs, and progress in health indicators.
According to the municipality, it has been working to make health services more accessible and effective by expanding health facilities and implementing regular health programs, including maternal and child health, vaccination, nutrition, and elderly health services.
Municipality Chairman Santosh Tigel said that health services are a fundamental right of citizens, and the municipality has prioritized creating an environment where all citizens can access quality health services easily.
Tigel attributed the municipality’s success to its continuous efforts in the health sector, the activism of health workers, and the effective implementation of health programs at the community level.
The municipality’s health department was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the District Coordination Committee’s Vice-Chairman Sri Karki, in recognition of its outstanding performance in the health sector.
Karki praised the municipality’s efforts to make health services more effective and accessible to citizens.
According to the municipality’s health department, it has been working to make health programs more effective at the community level, with the goal of ensuring that no citizen is deprived of health services.
With its ranking as the top municipality in the district for health services, Chhathar Municipality has pledged to further improve the quality of health services and expand citizen-friendly services in the future.
