Blue Drum Case Verdict Live Update: The shocking Blue Drum murder case in Meerut has reached a major turning point, with a district court sentencing Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla to death for the murder of Muskan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput. The case drew widespread attention after investigators recovered Rajput’s body from a blue drum at his home in March 2025.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the court announced the punishment after convicting both accused on September 30, following months of hearings and evidence presented by the prosecution.

The verdict follows a trial that involved 126 hearings and testimony from 22 prosecution witnesses. The prosecution argues that Muskan and Sahil conspired to kill Rajput and tried to conceal the crime by placing his body inside a sealed drum.

The case dates back to March 2025, when Saurabh Rajput, a former Merchant Navy officer, was murdered in Meerut. Rajput had returned from London to his home on February 24, 2025, according to the prosecution’s account.

Investigators alleged that Muskan and Sahil planned the murder because Rajput’s presence had become an obstacle to their relationship. The prosecution said the two killed him, cut his body into pieces and concealed the remains inside a large blue plastic drum before sealing it with cement.
Police registered the case on March 18, 2025, following a complaint by Rajput’s brother. Officers later recovered the remains from the house and arrested Muskan and Sahil.
