A husband and wife were found dead in their home in the Belbari Municipality-1 region of Morang following a suspected murder-suicide. Police identified the deceased as Bam Bahadur Limbu (60) and his wife, Geeta Limbu (45).
According to District Police Office Morang spokesperson, DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal, Geeta Limbu was found dead with wounds from a sharp weapon at approximately 1:50 am. Bam Bahadur Limbu was discovered critically injured with a neck laceration and died while receiving treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar.
Investigators believe Bam Bahadur Limbu killed his wife before taking his own life. Police report a history of domestic disturbances within the household.
This was a second marriage for both individuals. They were manual laborers residing in Belbari-1 and are survived by a minor son. The child is safe and in police custody. Authorities are attempting to contact the couple’s extended families.
