By Santosh Dahit, Dang, Oct. 8: With the festival of Dashain approaching, JP Magar and his wife Janaki Magar of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Gairagaun, are busy making idols of Goddess Durga. As orders for idols have started coming from different places, the couple remain busy making them from morning to evening.

Idols of Goddess Durga are currently being made at ‘Swargadwari Handicraft Cottage Industry’, operated along the Dharapani road. JP Magar said the demand for idols increases every year during Dashain as there is a tradition of installing idols of Goddess Durga and worshipping them at various places during the festival.

“I have been making idols continuously for the past 13 years. The workload increases significantly as Dashain approaches,” he said. “At present, neither of us has even a moment to spare.”
