Leah Croucher’s parents are fighting for change in the law in the wake of finding the body of their 19-year-old daughter who went missing while heading to work in Milton Keynes, England in February 2019. John and Claire Croucher have said the uncertainty period was torture for them and are fighting for harsh laws to be passed regarding sexual repeat offenders known as “Leah’s Law.”
Leah went missing on February 15, 2019. After extensive efforts at search and public appeal for information, nothing was known about the whereabouts of the teenager until October 2022, when her body and personal effects were found in the loft of a home in Loxbeare Drive, Furzton, Milton Keynes, just a half mile away from her parents’ home.
Thames Valley Police then announced that Neil Maxwell, a convicted sex offender who died in April 2019, was their main suspect in the case. An inquest conducted in 2024 investigated Leah’s death and pointed out failures associated with the handling and monitoring of offenders.
